For the past 5 years, Dr. Thorpe has been the health literacy and cultural competence trainer for the Harold Freeman Patient Navigation Institute. She has also served as a consultant for several health and human services organizations in the New York City tri-state area. Dr. Thorpe is a certified wellness coach and health education specialist with 15 years experience in the health and human services. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Syracuse University, a doctorate in health education and a Master of Education degree in international educational development from Teachers College Columbia University.
